Vaqueros announce 2018 Jersey Sponsorship Lottery

Fort Worth companies/organizations enjoy chance to win jersey front

FORT WORTH _ The chances of winning the Vaqueros lottery are far, far better than some gigantic super ball interstate gambling prize or being struck by lighting.

For the 5th year in a row, the Vaqueros jersey sponsorship lottery will determine the corporate sponsor to adore the front of the Fort Worth minor league soccer team’s PUMA jerseys for the 2018 season.

The Vaqueros family will gather at 6:30 p.m. Thursday March 29 at Main At South Side (M*A*S*S), which is Fort Worth’s hottest new concert venue, for the lottery. M*A*S*S is located at 1002 S Main St, Fort Worth, 76104 in the heart of the now thriving Main Street area just south of I-30. The pre-lottery party is slated for 6 p.m. with the lottery ceremony to begin at 7 p.m.

“The history of the jersey lottery has proven to be a fair venture in that Miss Fort Worth has selected local non-profits or small pubs and not just a major businesses,” Vaqueros general manager Tobias Xavier Lopez said. “The idea is that any company regardless of their size that supports the Vaqueros family will have a shot at the jersey and not just an international brand.”

Season seat holders are given a free authentic PUMA jersey that serves as their ticket into all Vaqueros home games.

Miss Fort Worth 2018 Erica Kuntz will be on hand to continue the tradition of selecting the winning sponsor from a fish bowl filled with mini-soccer balls containing the names of the Vaqueros 2018 corporate partners.

Kuntz, a senior PR major at the University of Texas, will represent Cowtown in the June Miss Texas competition.

Past Vaqueros jersey lottery winners include Hispano Exito (2014), Tarrant County College (2015), Chimera Brewing (2016) and the Jim Zadeh Law Firm (2017).

“The process of letting the supporters choose the jersey style along with letting fate determine the jersey sponsor simply enforces our commitment to the team being a true community club,” Lopez said. “Throughout our 5 year history we have been authentic in allowing the supporters to guide the image of the club.”

The Vaqueros will kickoff their 5th season in the NPSL’s Lone Star Conference in early May at Fort Worth’s iconic Farrington Field.

Corporate partners interested in a 2018 sponsorship package can enter the lottery up until the lottery is conducted on March 29. Interested parties should contact Scott Wegener at ScottW@fortworthvaqueros.com.
